One crew for every stage of your sound
Most players juggle a shop, a repair tech, a rental house, a teacher and a studio. At U81X they share one bench, one calendar and one account — so your guitar, your lessons and your session time all speak the same language.

Every setup and repair follows the same five-stage chain. You get a status update at each stage and a written bench report at the end.
- 01
Intake
We log the instrument, photograph its condition and note how you play — genre, tuning, string gauge and what feels wrong.
- 02
Diagnose
A technician measures relief, action, frets and electronics, then sends you a fixed quote before touching a tool.
- 03
Adjust
Truss rod, nut, saddles, frets, wiring or drum edges — only the work you approved, done by hand.
- 04
Play-test
A second technician plays it clean and loud, in your tuning, and signs off the bench report.
- 05
Handover
Collect in store or have it couriered. You receive the report and a care card for keeping it in tune.
Things players ask us first
Do I need an appointment for a setup?
Walk-ins are welcome during service desk hours, but booking online guarantees a bench slot and the 48-hour turnaround. Urgent same-day work is available for an extra fee when the schedule allows.
Can I try an instrument before buying or renting?
Yes. Every instrument on the wall can be played in our try-out room with amps and headphones, and rentals can be exchanged for a different model within the first 14 days.
What ages do you teach?
Our group classes start at age 6 and private lessons have no upper age limit. Our oldest current student started piano at 71.
Do you repair instruments you did not sell?
Absolutely. More than half of our bench work is on instruments bought elsewhere, including vintage pieces and inherited family instruments.
How do rent-to-own credits work?
On eligible instruments, 100% of your first twelve monthly payments count toward purchase. You can buy out the balance at any time or simply return the instrument.
Bring us the instrument. We will bring the tone.
Book a setup, reserve a rental, or just tell us what you want to play. A real person replies within one business day.
